I am a senior Mechanical Engineering student at the University of USI. The fundamentals of engineering and the abundance of projects in classes such as: Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Circuits, Modeling Dynamic Systems, and Pre-Senior Design which has given me HAB experience will help in success of this project. I have also had one engineering internship at CountryMark refinery. At CountryMark, I worked on updating the inventory for the pumps including providing information on pump curve and mechanical seal specifications. I also have used AutoCad to create several designs and complete a plot plan of the entire refinery. My experience at CountryMark, has given me insight into how to take design projects from beginning to end, and will be a valuable asset in our teams pursuit to circumnavigate the Earth.
I am a senior level Mechanical Engineering Student at the University of Southern Indiana who will graduate this Spring of 2018. I am the recipient of multiple merit-based scholarships including the Robert A. & Sara B. Davies Endowed Engineering Scholarship. I have excelled in my time at USI, earning a 3.88 GPA as well as top student awards in the following classes: Statics, Dynamics, Circuits, Strength of Materials, Vibrations, and Material Science. I have also taken the Pre-Senior Design course in which we launch a high-altitude balloon, my responsibilities in this course included designing and fabricating a lightweight camera enclosure to record on-board footage of the flight while solving many of the problems previously encountered. I have worked on several other projects during my time at USI including a large glider constructed from paper and glue which exceeded its distance goal by 400% and the roll-cage for the USI Baja Club baja car for which I used SolidWorks to design and simulate impact and roll-over events, and subsequently fabricated in the USI Applied Engineering Center.
I am a senior Mechanical Engineering student, scheduled for graduation in the Spring 2018 semester. During my career at the University of Southern Indiana, I have had the pleasure of taking several classes that are relevant to our project. These classes include: Dynamics, Electrical Circuits, Engineering Economics, and Pre-Senior Design. I have also had engineering experience at two summer internships at Masterbrand Cabinets and Flanders Electric. At Masterbrand Cabinets, I worked with AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor to update solid models of products manufactured by Masterbrand Cabinets. At Flanders Electric, I worked as a Tool Designer, where I designed industrial equipment for Flanders as well as other local companies including Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana. My engineering experience will help our team be successful in using a high altitude balloon to circumnavigate the earth.
